Below are step by step directions on how to download and use the Natrium wallet in order to transact in the cryptocurrency Nano. We hope that this will be a great way for those interested to get started with and comfortable with acquiring and using crypto. For some of you this will be your first time using crypto so we have made the instructions as rudimentary and detailed as possible.
Some particular things to pay attention to is taking great care to appropriately (and privately) document and store your password, pin, and most importantly recovery phrase (known as the mnemonic seed) for the wallet. Without this information you will not be able to access the wallet nor recover it on other devices.
Of course it should be stated that this wallet can be set up on multiple devices in the future, so long as you retain the needed information reference above.
- Go to https://natrium.io on your apple or android phone (or simply search for the Natrium Nano wallet in either the Google Play store or the Apple Store)
- Click on link to app store or google play (google is not goose friendly)
- Download the natrium – nano wallet ( Natrium.io)
- Open the wallet. The first question that will be asked is whether you are recovering an existing wallet or setting up a new wallet. Select setting up new wallet. Note in the future if you’d like to set up a new a wallet on another device you would select the recover/existing wallet option.
- Next is the create a password screen. Set a strong password of random letters, numbers, and symbols. Do not use a password generator. Do not save the password to the device. Be careful with Things that look similar like “l”, “I”, and “1”. Or “0”, ”O”, and “o”.
- Carefully write down the password somewhere safe and private (not a computer) and confirm your password. Never share this.
- Next is the recovery phrase generation screen Very carefully write down your recovery phrase (mnemonic seed). The order of the words and case mater. Write the numbers 1-24, then write the words next to the corresponding number. Never share this.
- Finally we arrived at the set pin screen . Write down 6 digit pin, and then type in your pin, lastly confirm the PIN. Never share this information.
- You will now be complete with wallet setup, you will now see the transaction screen. From this screen you can send and receive Nano.
- Tell the group you now have a nano wallet and are ready to practice using it.
- Send public address (key) to person helping you. this can be accessed by pressing the receive button on the transaction screen, and then pressing the “share address” button that will appear on the screen. This will be below the QR code which is been generated for you. you can then select telegram and send the public address to your contact who’s helping you.
- Send nano back to person helping you. this is achieved by pressing on the send button on the transaction page, then entering the public address of person helping you (the person will have to send you their public address), then executing the transaction.
