The keyboard system for Maza Swarm is unique way to collect feedback that I have decided to work with.
You can’t type in your answers on Maza Swarm. I use a set of symbols that act in a binary fashion. That is either they are OFF or ON. This is actually how your computer works at a deep level. 8 Binary bits equals 1 byte. With these 32 switches or keys you can select combinations reaching 65,000 values.
I plan to add other keyboards, the next one will be a set of numbered blocks going from 1 to 32 since the symbols really seem to throw some people off for now. We can still be creative with this system and collect data.
When first thinking of building this website I was drawn to this image of cave symbols found in Europe. I wondered if we should have a connection to this collection of symbols. I found it strange that they are in 4 groups of 8. Just like bits to bytes in our computers, so I decided to run with it.
